HOPPER, SANS NIGHTHAWKS
Fascinating indeed are the Shanghai photographs of 2009 Sony World Photography award-winner Michael van den Bogaard.
Urban alleys admittedly are one of my irradicable tics. Their hard, unconcealed truths always seem to reduce every street to a Potemkin village.
For gorgeous alley photography stripped of the human element, I highly recommend Bob Thall's City Spaces. He imbues old brick with a five parsec depth of field.
