COMFORT'S IMAGINARY FRIEND
Corrupted Yiddish yields Joy:
never unalloyed
but pre-tarnished--
shallacked with occlusions
of grit
(aka truth's varnish)
and hidden in such plain view
as to vanish,
Easter eggs concealed
by a hung-over Dad
strayed way off script
You must scan peripheries:
not wedding rice, but pigeon
Not fireworks, but hippie teen--
white midriff a horizon,
tramp-stamp its setting sun
