Senseless 1920's Novelty Tune
If we were brains inside a jar,
would you still talk to me?
Would both hippocampi
remember we'd been happy?
Though soaked in brine, would you be mine
throughout eternity --
trade a little lab glass
for that plot of crab-grass?
Corpora callosa
turn callous, but not us:
twin apples of our non-existant eyes--
Let's reach a lower limbo than
we ever shim-shimmied:
formalin-fixed sweeties,
limbic-locked you and me.

I rather like to think so...
ReplyDeleteOh, this is wonderful! I've missed a lot, it seems.
ReplyDeleteOh, purely-aspirational novelty tunes aren't much to miss!
